Game: My Turn, Your Turn

Related to: Knowing Words, Talk

Activities with repetition help your child's brain link sound and meaning. Repetition helps build your child's confidence and they will be more likely to use words that they have heard.

Touch your nose and say, “Look! Here is daddy’s nose!” Ask your child, “Do you have a nose? Where is your nose?” Help your child find their nose. Now, point to their nose and ask (as if you’ve forgotten), “What’s this again?” This gives your child a chance to name the body part. Continue in this way with other body parts.
